Mandolin Orange is a North Carolina-based duo – songwriter Andrew Marlin and vocalist/instrumentalist Emily Frantz – who pair distinct musical roles to stylize songs inspired by their country, jazz and bluegrass forebears. Marlin and Frantz ornament lyrical songs with violin, mandolin, and acoustic and electric guitars.
The duo toured throughout the southeast following the May 1 release of their debut album, Quiet Little Room, which earned critical acclaim and heavy airplay in the region. The slow country duets of Quiet Little Room reflect the influence of traditional music on the duo's progressive style, providing a sound that’s uniquely their own yet satisfyingly familiar.
Mandolin Orange will perform two sets, including songs off their debut album as well as new, unreleased material. Their music is available for preview and download on iTunes. The duo packed The White Hart at their first performance in Lynchburg in March - advance tickets available and recommended.
